This website is the donation page of the Kyle Rescuer campaign. It is run by:

We are a charity recognized by the IRS under section 501(c)(3). In these policies, “we” and “us” mean SOS Animal Help, Inc.

Kyle Rescuer is an independent animal rescuer in Brazil. Kyle does not hold the money. Our work in Brazil is carried out with our partner organization there, the Brazilian association SOS Animal Help, which helps us deliver the programs but does not receive your donation.

1. Who receives your donation

Every donation is received by SOS Animal Help, Inc. in California. Our board decides how the money is used, including money raised for a named shelter or animal. Money sent abroad goes under a written agreement that limits it to charitable use and requires the partner to report back on how it was spent. Your preference for a particular shelter or animal is followed wherever we can, but it stays our decision, as the law requires of a US charity.

2. What donations pay for

Food, veterinary treatment and medicine, shelter rent and running costs, transport and supplies, the cost of raising the funds (payment fees and advertising), and running the organization. Unless the page says otherwise, a donation is unrestricted and goes wherever the need is most urgent. If an appeal raises more than it needs, the extra goes to the other needs of the same animals. The campaign page publishes monthly costs and updates.

3. Currency

Everything is charged in US dollars. Other currencies shown on the page are estimates, and the page shows the dollar amount before you pay. Your bank sets the final conversion and may add a fee we do not control or receive.

4. Payment and fees

Credit card, debit card or PayPal, processed by PayPal and Stripe. Payment providers charge us a fee on every donation, and on a one-time donation you can choose to add US$5 to cover it. The box is never ticked for you, and it is never added to monthly donations. The minimum donation is US$5, for both one-time and monthly gifts.

5. Monthly donations

Before you confirm, we show you the amount, that it repeats monthly, the first charge date and how to cancel. It is then charged on about the same day each month until you cancel, which you can do at any time and free of charge. We will never raise the amount without asking you first. You get a receipt for every charge.

6. Receipts and taxes

PayPal or your card provider sends you a receipt, and we confirm any donation in writing if you ask. For a donation of US$250 or more we send you a written acknowledgment stating the amount and confirming that you received nothing in return, which is what the IRS requires you to have in order to claim the deduction. Donations to us are tax-deductible in the United States to the extent the law allows. We do not give tax advice, and if you pay tax in another country the deduction usually will not be available there. Please check with a tax advisor.

7. Anonymous donations

You can donate anonymously on a one-time donation. A monthly donation is set up in your name because the payment provider requires it. We never sell or trade donor information.

8. Donations we may decline

We may decline or return a donation that appears fraudulent, was made with someone else’s payment method, comes from unlawful activity, or comes with conditions we cannot accept.

9. Fundraisers

We do not use paid professional fundraisers, and nobody is paid a percentage of what they raise.
